I was first diagnosed with this ugly disease in 2018 at the age of 28. I had just gotten married, had a healthy 1 yr old son and I was in my dream career and then it all came crumbling down. After many attempts and my first doctor telling me it was a clogged milk duct, after having a biopsy I was diagnosed with stage 2b invasive carcinoma breast cancer. I was angry, depressed amongst other things, but I knew I had to fight for my family. After 16 rounds of chemo 28 rounds of radiation, countless surgeries I thought I would be on the road to my new life.
Fast forward to February 2022, I get Covid and I get an x-ray I was told there was a mass on my right lung. After another biopsy and pet-scan I was told that my breast cancer had metastasized to my lung and lymph nodes in my neck.
Since my first diagnosis I have dedicated my life to educating by being a Tigerlilly Angel advocate and being on the board for Pink Pearl Hero, and telling my story so that I may be a testimony! For all women but especially black and brown women! I am a living proof that even though I’ve been through hell and back that I’m still thriving and still pushing! For I know God has a purpose for my life!
