Taking It One Day At A Time...

On a girls trip to Atlanta, I discovered a lump in my left breast as I got dressed for dinner. My thoughts immediately shifted from fun to fear. When I returned home I set up an appointment with my gynecologist. Within two weeks I was diagnosed with Stage III invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. September 27, 2021 is the day my life changed. After completing 16 rounds of chemotherapy, undergoing a mastectomy, and 16 rounds of radiation... I am CANCER FREE!!! I'm currently waiting for my reconstruction surgery. Even though the cancer is gone, hormone therapy is my new normal. One pill a day... one day at a time. My village and breast cancer community were with me every step of the way. The bonds I've made are deeper than the trauma. I'm thankful to be amongst such brave and beautiful souls. My FAITH and therapy were very instrumental in my journey. Prayer saved me from those dark moments. Joy feels my heart now knowing I have tons of wonderful souls in my life! As I continue to THRIVE, I hope my story will inspire and bring awareness to breast cancer.
